Gigging at The Cavern in Liddypud
Well, would you believe that Stave number 2 is playing at The Cavern Club tomorrow night?! You should; it's true. It's only a short set, I think, but even so, gigging there is pretty much one of coolest things to say you've done. Staves numbers 1 & 3 are cursing Richard Branson for making train tickets too expensive for us to buy (I was quoted £649 return. Seriously). I wish I could go. I miss her so. Jessie has her own band for the gig and I think they'll be doing all new songs. A slight twinge of something, that might be jealousy that others are singing with her instead of Millie & I, stirs in me. Mostly though, I'm just so proud of her for getting into LIPA, going to Liverpool and making her own musical loveliness.
And I can't wait for the summer when we're all together again. Until then - GOOD LUCK JAZZ!!!

One Stave and some Canyoneros...
Stave number 2 started LIPA in September. When she left Watford to try and snog Macca, Staves Numbers 1 & 3 were left twiddling their thumbs. Stave number 3 decided to go to India for two weeks to try it on with Ghandi.... but he was playing hard to get, and two weeks turned into three months. So Stave number 1 (me) was left, in Watford, going stir crazy with NO MUSIC and no siblings' clothes to steal.
Salvation came in the form of a long hippy (Tom Billington) and some other chums, and so The Canyoneros were born. An Americana band playing everything from Johnny Cash & Neil Young to Counting Crows & Ryan Adams with anything from a guitar to a 14 piece band.
It's more fun than I could have hoped and a damn sight better than any of us thought it could be: the secret ingredient being an absolute minimum of 10% pure shambles. If you like a bit of country music, good singing, great people, a lot of rock and some surprises then I strongly suggest you get yourself down to The Horns pub in Watford on Sunday 15th June at 8:00 for a rootin' tootin' shindig.
See you there.

Buy our CD!
You will be delighted to hear that the good people at Smooth One Records have seen fit to include us on their compilation of Watford bands CD. We have given our song "Fuck the Cool Kids" and you can hear some other good stuff from the likes of Cedar and, especially, the lovely Kyla Bowen La Grange. It's called "The Sound of Watford" and is available from Hooters Music shop in Watford. "Oh no! I don't live in Watford!" I hear you cry. Well, fear not. You can also get it from www.smoothonerecords.
So, what are you waiting for? It costs less than a packet of fags and will not harm your baby if listened to while pregnant!
